About Cable Beach Holiday Hire

We are a mother and daughter, family owned and operated Broome business. Our history started in Broome about 9 years ago. I first arrived in Broome in 1998 and like so many that come here, I fell in love with the place as soon as I saw it.

The colour of the red earth that has to be seen to be believed, the colours of the sea that changes as often as the tide, the perfect weather and the spectacular summer lightning shows. I know, it sounds like the start of a romantic novel but this is what I saw and the reason why I stayed.

My mother started to make her pilgrimages to Broome not long after. Initially it was to help out with my first pregnancy, which was her eighth grandchild. But as time wore on, she found any and believe me when I say every excuse to leave her very understanding husband back in the big smoke and come to Broome to visit. Like me, she loved it here instantly.

Now being in semi retirement she has made the decision to move here, with her husband, permanently, which we're thrilled about and which got us talking on her latest visit about starting a business together.

We have family stretched out in nearly all states of Australia which means travelling quite a bit to see them. I remember when I first started travelling with my daughter Matilda; it was a bit stressful trying to work out what to take and what to leave. Of course you need a car seat on arrival. And then what about a stroller so you don't have to carry her everywhere! Then sleep time.

Do I really want to mess around with that hard earned routine and let her sleep with us? On our first trip my very understanding husband (it must run in the family) lugged just about everything but the kitchen sink around. That's when I first started making enquiries about hiring gear. And that's all I've done since.
